Minimizing Guild Wars
When I'm in game and minimize, alt+tab, windows key, etc, I cant restore the game when I click on it and have to close it (I accidently hit the windows key a lot going for Alt or Ctrl). This didnt used to happen, just started playing again after a year or so break (yes it's been installed the whole time). I am running Windows Vista.
Thanks.

Thanks for sharing, but what's your question?
It's good that you brought this up though, it reminds me that I wanted to try to find a way to disable the windows key in Vista. There is a simple registry entry that will do that in XP, but I couldn't find one for Vista.
I friend of mine had a similar problem, but it went away after his mobo fried and he upgraded. Don't know whether it was because he has a better mobo or more RAM, but I suspect it was just because he reinstalled windows.
You could have a corrupt driver of some kind. During your 1 year absence you've probably had several updates to windows. Have you update your various drivers ? (Graphics, mobo, sound, etc.)
Edit - found this that seems to work - http://johnhaller.com/jh/useful_stuf...e_windows_key/

Well it's good to know I'm not the only one this has happened to, I guess my question is, How do I fix this? I'd like the game to restore when I click on it, sucks closing/disconnecting everytime i accidently bump it, especially in missions.

Try running in a window rather than full screen. I find that the computer as a much easier time re-rendering the game when it doesn't have to drop the desktop completely.

I've never had a problem with this myself, instead of Alt tab, use the minimize option in the top right corner of Guild Wars and see if this makes a difference.
On Vista Alt Tab is different is it not, due to Vista have that fancy tabbing feature.
It could also be that the system is under stress, are there alot of background programs running all the time?

Works when I run GW in window mode, but I would prefer Fullscreen. And nope, just necessary windows apps running in background. If I dont' hear a solution soon I'll reinstall GW and let you all know how it went.

I know you said you would prefer full screen, but you know when in widnow mode, you can drag and resize the window to basically fullscreen.
It'll solve your problem, and it'll look basically the same. Plus its better for your comp, as it doesnt have to refresh the display everytime u minimize.
